It’s back again.

The State of California is trying to take this site off the air and put my family in the poorhouse. The California State Assembly should be voting on this Monday morning.

The proposed ABX8 8 bill, if passed and then signed by Governor Schwarzenegger, will prevent companies like Amazon and Adorama from supporting me, which is from where over 90% of the funds to run this site, and support my family, come.

The bad news is that if passed, the state collects no more taxes, because all sites like Amazon need do is terminate their support of sites like this, and they are then excused.

To quote the LA TImes, “Amazon has also said it would cancel its California contracts.” That means me and this site.

The problem with this bill is that it equates simply supporting me with having a real, live retail store in California. That’s a problem because all these sites have to do to avoid collecting and remitting the taxes the State of California thinks it might collect is simply to dump me. That means no more KenRockwell.com, and I have no income to pay the fat income taxes I pay today.

Everyone loses.”
